Intralase in the East Bay and Oakland

September 5th, 2006

Turner Eye Institute uses the most advanced FS Laser System for the Intralase laser.  Results have been exceptional.  At the current time, Dr. Stephen Turner tends to select the intralase laser for hyperopic patients and patients with a significant amount of astigmatism.  Dr. Turner chooses these cases as they have a slightly higher chance of complications when using a standard microkeratome.  For myopic patients, Dr. Turner still tends to select the Thin Flap LASIK, also depending on topography and the shape of surrounding ocular tissue.

Turner Eye Institute uses intralase at the east bay facility south of Oakland in San Leandro.  Patients from San Jose, San Francisco, and Concord and Walnut Creek still have access to Intralase though this East Bay facility.

Here is a recent newspaper article regarding Intralase.
