Our StaffThe LASIK staff at the Turner Eye Institute are highly trained ophthalmic technicians. Many are Certified Ophthalmic Technicians through JCAHPO (Joint Commission of Allied Health Professionals in Ophthalmology) having passed a national board exam to obtain this certification. Our optometrists are among the Bay Area's finest and are skilled in Refractometry (finding your glass/lens prescription), Tonometry (checking the pressure in your eyes for glaucoma), Topography (getting a map of your cornea prior to LASIK), Pachymetry (measuring the thickness of your cornea prior to LASIK), and WaveFront Technology. At Turner Eye Institute, we think it's extremely important that all of our patients are fully informed about the procedure they have chosen. Dr. Turner has personally trained our optometrists and technicians to explain the potential risks, complications and expectations of surgery. Because of this high-level training, our technical staff takes great pride in its superior surgical counseling skills. |
